Cage tells the story of three girls abducted into sex slavery in the cages of Kamathipura. The primary means of storytelling is through a series of dramatic photographs that share their journeys, from abduction to sex slavery and beyond. Taking inspiration from James Joyce's 'Dubliners'', between November 2008 and March 2009, six teams of writers and photographers each took a physical space or community within Hanoi and set out - using words, photographs, video and sound - to tell the everyday stories of people they encountered. The project was funded by The British Council.
